JOINT-USE TRENCH PROCEDURES
Consumers desiring to utilize joint trench for underground electric cable and telephone/communication cables are required to contact the other utility involved, along with SDCEA's cable plowing contractor. SDCEA will not be responsible or liable for any of the following:
- Coordination of trenching with the contractor or the other utility.
- Payment or reimbursement for joint trenching.
- Liability or damages relating to joint trenching and other facilities installed.
- Easements or Right-Of-Way for the other facility.
For open trenches (trench provided by the consumer) or trenches of less than 300 feet, the consumer will be responsible for having telephone/communication cables installed. SDCEA does not employ a contractor for such installations.
