SDCEA (Sangre de Cristo Electric Association) Board of Directors Meeting Summary, September 30, 2024 

Rob Canterbury appointed: Sangre de Cristo Electric Association’s board of directors held a brief public meeting Sept. 30 at Mt Princeton Hot Springs Resort, to vote on and appoint Rob Canterbury as the new board member representing Fremont County.  

A rancher from a multi-generational family in the area, and a lifetime resident of Fremont County, Canterbury brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the community. Canterbury steps into this role following the resignation of former director Nick Hellbusch in July and will serve the remainder of Hellbusch’s term, which concludes in June. Canterbury will be eligible to run for the seat at that time for a full three-year term. 

Canterbury was selected by the board after interviews of three Fremont County residents who applied for the position.

Educational Workshop: The meeting then adjourned for a full-day educational workshop exclusively for the board and staff members following the appointment. The workshop focused primarily on cooperative fiscal management and an introduction to how rates are developed.
