Alpine Lumber Company is employee-owned and was founded in Englewood in 1963. The company has expanded over the years in Colorado, including to Buena Vista, and to northern New Mexico.

“From sheds to houses,” manager Gregg Petri said, “we provide materials for projects.”

Alpine now has 16 lumberyards, three Alpine Truss shops, three Alpine Millwork operations, a pre-built stair shop, FastFrame engineered wood center and Rocky Mountain Reload (rail-serviced material handling). The Buena Vista location has been in operation since 2003, when what was Summit Lumber at the same location was purchased.

Twelve local employees provide construction materials to contractors and to homeowners throughout the region.

“We are an employee-owned company and we take pride in our services,” Petri added.

Conducting business with integrity, timeliness, efficiency and quality is the company’s goal. Working toward that goal, prospects for Alpine Lumber’s future look very strong, Petri said.
