Sangre de Cristo Electric Association is Seeking Director Candidates from Custer County

Are you interested in the governance of your electric cooperative?

Do you have business skills and leadership qualities and want to make a difference?

Consider running for a seat on the Sangre de Cristo Electric Association board of directors!

If you’re interested in running for a director seat, you’ll have to meet certain basic qualifications. First, you must be a member of Sangre de Cristo Electric Association living in Custer County. If you are, once you certify that you meet a few other qualifications, you’ll be provided with a nomination petition that requires the signatures of 15 members. Nomination petitions must be submitted to the cooperative by 5 p.m., May 6, 2019. The election will take place at the Sangre de Cristo annual meeting in June.

Directors must live within their director district, but all members vote on all director candidates and directors represent the entire membership of the cooperative.

Custer County incumbent director Don Kaufman is retiring from the board and will not seek re-election.

Director terms run for three years.
