It’s June. Do you have weekend getaways and summer vacations planned? Since we live in Colorado, we don’t have to go far to experience amazing adventures. You’ll find some great suggestions in this month’s cover story.

One of the coolest (scariest) things my husband and I did last summer in Colorado was the Skycoaster at the Royal Gorge near Cañon City. You put on a harness, then they strap you into the ride — lying down — and pull you way back. Then it’s up to you to pull the rip cord that sends you down, down, down at 50 miles per hour and out over the canyon, 1,200 feet above the Arkansas River.

It’s exhilarating, heart-stopping, breathtaking and worth doing again. What Colorado adventures do you have planned for this summer?
