Tracy Linza Earns PHR Certification

Tracy Linza, administrative assistant III at Sangre de Cristo Electric, earned the prestigious Professional and Human Resources certification, or PHR, in July.

To become certified as a PHR, Linza met strict professional experience and educational requirements before taking an exam.

Linza passed the four-hour exam, which tested her knowledge of the core principles of HR practice and the practical application of those principles. The Human Resources Certification Institute developed the criteria and test for the certification.

Linza has been at SDCEA since 2007 and has worked in human resources and benefits at the company for 11 years.

The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association holds annual national conferences that provide HR and benefits education, as does the Colorado Rural Electric Association. Linza will also be required to take continuing education and relevant classes through the Employers Council to maintain her certification.

Established in 1976, HRCI is the largest HR certification organization in the world. To remain certified, individuals must fulfill continuing education requirements and demonstrate their current knowledge of the profession through retesting.
