Thanks to all who attended Sangre de Cristo Electric Association’s (SDCEA) annual meeting at our warehouse in Westcliffe on June 24.
This year’s theme was United in Purpose, Building Tomorrow. The morning included children’s activities and safety and educational displays for members, followed by the board’s abbreviated regular monthly meeting and lunch.
Featured speakers included Jon Beyer, SDCEA CEO; Sandra Attebery, SDCEA Board Chair; Sarah Crites, SDCEA CFO; and Blake Bennetts, SDCEA Board Treasurer.
Tri-State Generation & Transmission Chief Commercial Officer Lisa Tiffin gave the keynote address.
This year’s prize drawings included 2 $150 gift cards provided by Westcliffe Meats, a $250 gift card provided by Tri-State Generation & Transmission, and a Yeti Cooler provided by Lowry Excavating. There were plenty of other giveaways, bill credits, and other drawings throughout the event. Many thanks to our business partners who donated these items.
All SDCEA members (account holders) are welcome to attend the annual meeting. Next year’s meeting is planned to be held in Buena Vista.

- An unconventional shuttle was used during the event to help members get from their vehicles to the meeting site.

- The 86th annual meeting was held at SDCEA’s Westcliffe warehouse.

- The meeting drew a crowd of engaged members, many of whom participated in a question and answer session at the end of the meeting.

- Sarah Canterbury sang the National Anthem.

- SDCEA staff and some of our youngest members were on hand for the event.
