SDCEA seeks candidates for an At-Large Director Seat

Due to an announced November 2022 retirement on its Board of Directors, SDCEA is seeking candidates for an At-Large Director seat. The cooperative’s bylaws and policies allow the remaining Board to appoint a director to fill that vacancy. The At-Large Director must reside in Chaffee, Custer, Fremont, Lake or Saguache County and must be a member of the cooperative. Additional candidate qualifications exist and will be provided to any member who is interested in the director seat. The successful candidate will be selected at the regular meeting of the Board of Directors in November 2022. The term expires in June 2023, at which time the director will be able to run for re-election.

SDCEA directors set policy and direct the Chief Executive Officer, but directors do not work at the cooperative on a daily basis. The Board meets once a month at the cooperative’s headquarters in Buena Vista. Directors may attend additional meetings or training sessions in or outside of the cooperative’s service territory. Directors serve without salary but are eligible for a monthly stipend and reimbursement of expenses as approved by the Board.

Interested members should contact CEO Paul Erickson by phone at 719-395-2412, toll-free 844-395-2412 or by email at ceo@myelectric.coop for further information and an application.

Applications for the At-Large Director seat are due by 5 p.m. September 30, 2022.
